U.S.S. Pyro AE-1 / AE-24 Association Free E-mail
What’s the deal?
Effectively immediately, the association is offering all association members as well as their spouses, significant others, kids and even grand kids a free e-mail address.
(Someone is sure to ask, so just to be clear: “free” means “free.” It costs you nothing and it is offered at no cost to the association treasury.)
Why would I want another e-mail account?
Five reasons to get a PYRO e-mail address:
1. It’s a free benefit from your USS Pyro Association membership. 2. It’s an address you can continue to use even when you change your regular e-mail provider. 3. It shows your pride of service and unabated joy at being/having been a Pyromaniac 4. You and your spouse can now have separate addresses to avoid marital strife when you get e-mail from old flames on shared accounts. 5. It’s a good way to keep up with shipmates.
It’s a ‘full-featured’ e-mail account: You can get Web mail from any Internet-connected computer, from the library, for example; use it with most any e-mail program; have messages automatically forwarded to another e-mail address and change the password anytime. What this address doesn't provide is Internet access -- that you must obtain, but then if you didn’t have Internet access, you wouldn’t be reading this Internet page!
You can choose between anynameyouwant@ae-1.org or anynameyouwant@ae-24.org. (Since some of our snipes are rather literal minded, here are some examples: The president selected president@ae-24.org because he is a power hungry egomaniac, but he could have chosen devilishlyhandsome@ae-1.org or fatandbald@ae-24.org). Tom Sanborn chose mpasnipe@ae-24.org. Bob Smiley is using his name.
